Napoleon Perdis Bronze Patrol & Blush Patrol

Happy Friday Friends! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! I recently had the opportunity to try the Bronze Patrol ($50) & Blush Patrol ($59) from Napoleon Perdis (, which by the way, if you buy either the Bronze Patrol or Blush Patrol at that price you get a FREE Patrol Blush, so you get two! Which is probably a lil cheaper than two MAC MSF’s combined (and in case you are wondering I compared the two, and the MAC MSF and the NP Patrols are roughly the same size, see video).

The Brush Patrol & Blush Patrol are described as “sophisticated baked powders” that will make you look like you got a nice glowy tan from the islands. I definitely agree with “sophisticated”, the gold colored pan and the clear lid make it look so luxurious and refined. They both are enriched with Vitamin A and C, so for those of you with dry skin- like me- don’t need to worry! They are also dome shaped.

Since summer is around the corner and I am pretty pale, I tend to love bronzers (not the way Snooki loves bronzer), but I like that they bring warmth and subtle color to my face so I don’t end up looking pasty. I am loving the Napoleon Perdis Bronze Patrol, it creates a nice dewy, sunkissed look without looking like an oompa loompa and I personally think it’s flattering on all skin tones. It has shimmering gold flecks that leave a nice soft, yet subtle glow on your cheeks. The veining on both of these are just so pretty, you don’t even wanna touch it! You can also use it wet or dry and it’s paraben free.

You can even use this as a pretty eyeshadow color to give you a nice “beach bronze” look, because it’s such a pretty color. I even compared swatches with MAC MSF in “Comfort” (LE) and MAC MSF in “Petticoat” and you can see that the texture and pigmentation is pretty much the same, and the colors are similar. Since the MAC MSF’s were Limited Edition, I highly recommend checking out these Napoleon Perdis Baked Powders in case you missed the MSF boat. And there’s PLENTY of product to last you a lifetime; especially since you don’t need a lot to begin with because these are so pigmented.

The Blush Patrol blush, is super pretty; I can’t even describe how pretty it is in person. It’s like a hybrid of a soft rose pink and a tinge of a shimmery coral. It gives a nice natural flush to the cheeks and looks great in the pan because it has swirls of shimmery color. It’s also long lasting and streak free since these powders are baked but silky soft.
New Formula – Improved finish and blendability
Vitamin A & C – Antioxidants improve the appearance of skin tone
Lauroyl Lysine – Leaves a smooth, silky texture on the skin
Wet & Dry Application – For soft blush (dry) and contoured definition (wet)
Paraben Free – Ideal for those who are sensitive to parabens.
Final thought: This is the first product ever, that I have tried from Napoleon Perdis, and I genuinely loved these baked powders, they give such a nice glow to my face, I hope to do a FOTD soon (but you can see it in the video how it looks on the face); but because I had such a great experience with them, it makes me wanna check out their other products. Even though some of their stuff is more high-end, I like that they include free gifts to make it worth while. Bottom line, these are great quality and I highly recommend you check them out especially if you are a MAC MSF loving person who missed out on the LE MSF’s because unlike the MAC MSF’s these are permanent, and they are just as pigmented and similar in color.

Dirty Cosmetics (

Dirty Cosmetics ( is a new and funky makeup line based out in Los Angeles, and they were kind enough to send me their Lip Spark Lipstick ($15) in “Illusion” and their Curling Mascara in Black to try out, the first thing I noticed how cute and tiny the lipstick was, it’s probably less than 2 inches in height, but don’t let the packaging fool you, there’s a lot of product in there! I just really love how the lipstick itself is compact, makes it easier to tote around (I hate bulky things), and great size to carry in an evening /clutch bag that doesn’t have a lot of room to begin with.

This particular lipstick shade “Illusion” isn’t listed on their website yet (it’s still under construction) but it looks like the swatch pic they have up of “Crackle”. The lipstick itself has no obvious scent or weird smell, so even those with sensitive noses should be fine; I personally found it to be really drying and hard to apply (because it’s a glitter-esque lipstick), so I recommend applying chapstick or lip balm before to help it glide on better. This particular shade is not pigmented at all, even though the lipstick makes it seem it has some color to it, it has more of a slight metallic glaze finish as you can see by the swatches below. Probably looks better over a lipstick for a little sheen and sparkle but I don’t particularly see me using it by itself. I personally am not a glitter lipstick kind of a girl, so I think i’d try their regular lipsticks  ($12.50) for a better, more moisturizing formula.

Their Submissive Curling Mascara in Black ($11, also comes in brown), has a simple spiral thin brush to help get in tight spaces, I didn’t really notice it to give me any obvious or incredible curl or lift, but it gave a nice plush natural eyelash look to darken your lashes without looking clumpy or overdone; and didn’t make my lashes stiff.

They are still fairly new, so I am sure once they get their website together, it’ll be easier to check out their products in full detail, so it would be interesting to see their other stuff as well.

Review: Sally Hansen Crackle Nailpolishes

Product: 2 out of 5
Packaging: 3 out of 5
Quality: 1 out of 5
Overall: 2 out of 5
Where I bought it:Walmart
Price: $8.49
 Would I buy again? No

I went to Walmart last week and saw the crackle nailpolishes by Sally Hansen and since the crackle polishes are all the rage right now, I thought i’d try them out. They come in other colors as well such as black, purple, pink and more, but I only nabbed three of them, silver (Fractured Foil), white (Snow Blast), and gold (Antiqued Gold). They are around $7-8.50 depending on where you go.

I was excited to try these because all the crackle polishes I was interested in were always sold out, and I wasn’t about to pay a pretty penny on eBay just to own one. However, I found these to be way too streaky in the sense they didn’t “crack” the way I wanted them to, or rather the way the OPI Black Shatter crackled, (and I did let the base coat completely dry).

“Snow Blast” was the worst out of the bunch, it’s a matte finish and no matter what I did, it never came out right, always came out streaky. The metallic ones fare a little better than the white one, and crackled a little bit but not as much as the OPI Black Shatter. I experimented with different base coats and colors, applying one coat, applying two, and they just never came out the way I wanted

Overall: I was so disappointed in the quality of these, considering Sally Hansen has always been known for their nail products. You bet I quickly returned these. :( I am glad there are a lot more brands coming out with their version of crackle polishes, the competition should be interesting!

The dark plum purple polish used as a base in these photos are Sally Hansen Insta-Dry nailpolish in “Uptempo Plum”. And the pink nailpolish is OCC’s nailpolish in “Rhythm Box”.

Conair Heat Protection Mat & Pouch

Went to Walmart the other day and came across this Conair heat resistant pouch and mat roll for $7.98! And that’s the regular price! Since I recently got the NuMe Style Flat Iron and the Le Angelique Clipless Curling Iron, I needed a place I can store them in and that was also heat resistant so that I can store it immediately after use when I travel, and to have a place to set it on when I am doing my hair. Since these hair stylers get really hot, you can’t just set them anywhere without risk burning your table or things around it. So I am really glad I came across this because it does the job without breaking my wallet!

The design is super cute, and matches my pink hot tools (they have a few other designs as well); the pouch itself is removable (so you can get rid of the bulk of the roll and just use it as a storage pouch), it’s fastened to the mat by Velcro.  When you open the roll (which has two large buttons to keep it closed), the large space you unroll is the heat resistant mat, it’s large enough to hold a variety of regular and slightly larger curling iron sizes. The inside of the pouch is also insulated with heat protection material so you no longer have to wait for your curling iron or flat iron to cool. The entire roll itself is lightweight and easy to tote around and I was able to still fit my heat resistant glove in the pouch as well.

The only con I can say is that the pouch itself *may* not be big enough to hold larger curling irons or flat irons (taking into consideration their cords).

– The price! Can’t beat $7.98 and does the job!
– Removable zippered pouch- I like that it gives me the option to get rid of any bulk from the roll
– Pouch and mat in one is handy
– Comes in a few more other designs

– May not fit super large curling irons or flat irons.

Where to buy: Walmart stores (did not see this on their website,

How much? $7.98

Le Angelique Clipless Curling Iron

I love clipless curling irons, even though they can get tiring since you have to use both hands, I love the staying power and curl it gives. I was recently sent this 32mm Clipless Curling Iron ($145.95) in Pink from to try out and I am loving the amazing volume it gives me. I currently have an Enzo Clipless Curling Iron but the barrel is a lot smaller so I was impressed that the larger barrel on this one gave pretty curls and volume.

It comes with a heat protection glove (because it gets really hot!) and 2 pink hair clips to keep already curled hair back so you can curl the rest of your hair with ease. I like that it already came with the heat glove because there are tons of similar products out there where you would have to buy this separately, and personally I think it should be included by default because it gets really hot, without a glove it’s inevitable you will burn your fingers.

It also has a swivel cord, easy heat-up time, and it’s light-weight. It evenly distributes heat to prevent any damage to your hair. You can easily see the difference in my video, from my straight hair to major volume! And my curls stayed curly and lasted the next day, definitely recommend if you are having trouble keeping a curl. I also spray Big Sexy Hair hairspray on my curls to help keep them shiny and frizz-free.

YouTube always gives the weirdest thumbnail choices LOL

(Makeup: MAC Studio Fix in NW35, Blacktrack Fluidline,
L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara,Verhoeven Bronzer, NYX l/g in Beige)

Happy Monday y’all! I have been meaning to do more videos, but I am waiting to get a new HD video camera so it’s better detail…I already have my foundation routine, concealer tutorials, hair, etc. all setup, but I am not liking the way it’s coming out on my Canon SD1400, I mean it’s okkkkkaaayy quality, even on HD, but not spectacular. So I apologize for any lag, I am still doing research on which video camera I want, so I might just do some small videos until then! **Note I am wearing the Verhoeven bronzer in these pics. :)

Anyway, I wanted to share a really cool site with you guys,, it’s where I got this cute bear hoodie from! They sell a few tops, jackets, skirts, dresses, accessories, and beauty and skincare products; I also got the Lioele Aroma Soft Peeling Gel ($18). They are also kind enough to give my readers 10% OFF ALL ITEMS (does not include free shipping, however their shipping rates are beyond reasonable!). USE CODE: nessasary

The Bear Hoodie ($23) comes in other colors as well, a darker brown (which reminds me of a teddy bear I used to have when I was little that was this exact color), a dark gray, and white. The color I have is “White” however it is NOT a stark white, it’s more of an off-colored white (think light beige), which I like better anyhow. It’s super warm (and can get really hot, so it’s ideal for winter) and it’s long too, so it looks great over leggings and covers the bum. I love how soft it is to the touch!

The Lioele Aroma Soft Peeling Gel ($18), is something I have never tried before so I was really excited to try something like this. I have seen Yogurt masks and peels before but never gave it much thought, but this is not a mask, it’s literally a peeling gel to help slough off dead skin and dirt and give you a smoother and brighter complexion. I wash my face at night, then use this to slough off any dead skin (think facial scrub but not as harsh), and you feel the beads of dirt and/or skin on your fingertips.

Sounds gross I know, but hey at least I know it’s working! (I am a seeing is believing kinda of a gal), then just rinse your face and voila! My skin felt so much smoother after using this and the one thing I love is that it’s not harsh at all. I currently use St. Ives Face Scrub and that can be harsh at times for my sensitive skin, but you don’t even feel much of the beads in the peeling gel, like at all, it really just feels like gel! I LOVE this stuff! I am definitely gonna re-purchase once I am done.
