VIDEO: Review on Milani wet/dry eyeshadows and MAC PRO Products…

This will help some of you with your questions, I talk about dupes for Milani Shamrock in this video, even though to me this is the best way to go because not only is it cheaper but because you can’t get MAC Humid wet now can you!??? LOL jk. Oh and I’m NOT naked btw haha I was sporting a tube top!

I recorded this before my bedtime 2 nights ago, just a little review on my recent snagged items, so I apologize if I look a bit frazzled and have bed-head, LOL. I wish videos in general truly captured the actual color, that’s why I hate doing vids, it drained out the color big time…sorry!

….and more!

I am trying to catch up to all of your requests, but I keep getting bombarded! So I appreciate your patience! Trust me ladies, everything you have requested have been in my mind, do a look using more of the Milani eyeshadows (the new ones), a look using Mai Tai (and like I mentioned in the video) seems similar to MAC “Hipness” blush, and a bunch of others I can’t think of…they are on the way!

MAC PRO Store Field Trip & Haul (LONG post!!!)

After having a long weekend, I get back to my desk this morning and my tulips have blossomed! They are so pretty!

I had a lot of fun at the MAC Pro Store on Robertson Blvd., sound familiar? That’s the infamous street where all the paparazzi lurk waiting for celebrities to come out of shops and cafe’s. Luckily there was no chaos yesterday, so it was nice and calm around Beverly Hills.

I even got awesome parking, right in FRONT of the store! I swear I felt like I was in heaven walking in there, SO many products, every color and product you can imagine! I was in awe by how many things they had!

Some of you asked me about the difference between MAC PRO, MAC Freestanding Stores (the regular MAC stores in your local mall), and the ones in department stores such as Nordstrom’s and Macy’s. So here is the breakdown, it MAY vary from State to State:

Department Store MAC’s:
They have LIMITED items, they DO NOT sell pigments, brushes (only the ones that come out with a collection), mixing mediums, PRO colors, palettes, refill pans, chrome cakes, lip erase, etc. They just sell eyeshadow pots, concealer, lipsticks, lipglasses, blush pots, skincare, cleansers, foundation…

MAC Freestanding Stores: They sell the palettes, refill pans to put in the palette, full range of brushes, accessories (sponges, jars, eyelashes), pigments (not PRO pigments), as well as everything mentioned above. You can also return items bought at a MAC Freestanding Store to a PRO store and vice versa.

MAC PRO Stores: They have EVERY MAC Product imaginable! Mixing mediums with alcohol, gel, water, for the body, eyelash, multi-purpose (like foiling pigments), all the pigments (inc. PRO), PRO lipstick and Eyeshadow shades, newest collections, accessories, brushes, eyelashes…the reason MAC PRO items cannot be purchased online is because it’s designed for those who are true makeup artists, going to school for it, and/or those who contribute to the makeup industry such as photographers, models, actors. But you can still buy PRO things in person at the store or the 800 number on the macpro site. There is no difference in price, the pigments are the same all the way around, for some weird reason certain colors are PRO while others aren’t (for every MAC product) I have no clue why…lol. PRO stores just offer more in terms of color range, variety, and quantity but prices are the same, so for example there is no difference in price between a regular lipstick or a PRO lipstick.

They already had the new Beauty Powder Blushes out, I didn’t walk out with any because the colors seemed whatever to me or they were similar colors to some blushes I have…although I think I liked two of them. Sorry I didn’t get any of the blush names, I didn’t want to get caught with my camera!

Chromeacakes (PRO only, used for theatrical makeup, fake tattoos, etc by professional makeup artists):

Being stuck in traffic for MAC was well worth it, LOL!

The MAC Stand at MACY’s:

I really wanted to get the PRO eyeshadow in “Bio-Green” but they were sold out in both the refill pans AND the pot! Argh I was so disappointed! I guess i’ll just put in an order over the phone…

I bought: Lip Erase in “Dim”, Pigments: Emerald Green (PRO), Bright Fuchsia (PRO), and Fuchsia, as well as Fafi Blush in “Fashion Frenzy”, and Lipstick in “Show Orchid”.

Lip Erase: Neutralizes the lip color so that you can really see the color payoff of your lipstick and lipgloss. Also great for doing a neutral/nude lip. You can also use concealer, however most of MY concealers are yellow-based so I bought this so it’s more of a neutral color….

Bright Fuchsia Pigment: Super bright, almost red but with a nice pretty shimmer, reminds me of “Flammable” Paint. Can stain…

Emerald Green Pigment: Bought this solely for MAC Pigment Samples so it WILL be available soon!

Fashion Frenzy Blush (Fafi Collection): I exchanged “Hipness” Blush for this simply because the “Hipness” blush wasn’t working for me, it would concentrate so much color on one spot no matter how lightly I applied or what brush I used. Then I realized that I already have some blushes that are orangey so I figured id get Fashion Frenzy instead which I like a lot!

“Show Orchid” Lipstick: I love, love, love this lipstick! I KNOW, ANOTHER HOT PINK LIPSTICK!!!! Talk about the PERFECT HOT PINK! I tried “Chatterbox” and “Girl About Town, as well as “Impassioned”, “Immodest”, etc., and out of all the amplified creme lipsticks, this one by far is the perfect hot pink! It’s just so gorgeous and definitely wearable! Gezebel, you know you wanna try this one!!! This one maybe IT! Hehe :)

Fun N’ Sexy Lipstick & Show Orchid Lipstick (PRO Color):

Wearing “Show Orchid” Lipstick:

I also went back to CVS and bought more of the Milani Eyeshadows while they were on sale, I also picked up Milani blush in “Mai Tai” to “replace” my Hipness blush, LOL! They actually look similar…

Fashion Frenzy on my cheeks (lips: MAC Slimshine in Bare):

Swatch of NYX Round Lipstick in “Pandora”:

Some MAC PRO Lipstick & Eyeshadow Swatches:

From L to R (top row):
Lipsticks- Impassioned, Up the Amp, Violetta, Show Orchid, Girl About Town, Chatterbox

(bottom row): Pink Pearl Pigment, Blue Calm e/s, and Atlantic Blue

Swatches of Milani WET/DRY eyeshadows, ones depicted with an * are my favorites!

FOTD: Shiny Shamrock!

Man I love days when I am off! I had this whole entire day to myself! (BF had work, neener neener!) So I woke up early this morning to my mom blowing up my cell phone, then she realized I was trying to sleep in and felt bad so she said she’d call me later, but of course I couldn’t go back to sleep…so I just had me some yummy oatmeal cookies and started getting ready for my field trip to the MAC Pro Store!

Shayne, Mandy, Diane, and Genevieve, I ordered more jars which should be arriving hopefully this week, I will send your MAC Pigment Samples then! :)

I did another GREEN look (I love green!) using the new Milani wet/dry eyeshadows I bought from CVS, for this look I used “Shamrock” and “Bronze Doll”. I love these eyeshadows! They have phenomenal color-payoff and they are so pretty both dry AND wet. (I used it wet for this look). I have always loved Milani, even before their new look/collection. I loved them so much I went back to CVS to get more colors!

Doesn’t this pic look like I have short hair!?? I kinda like it, I think oneday I just wanna get some balls and just chop it off to a nice short bob, whatdya think?

My outfit to match! I bought this like 2 years ago and I still wear it! Forgot where I got it from…

I used MAC Paint Pot in “Cash Flow” all over the lid as a base and applied”Shamrock” wet on the lid just above the crease, and then contoured it with “Bronze Doll” (dry).

What I used:
– Physician’s Formula Tinted Concealer
– StudioFinish Concealer NC30
– Silk Naturals Mineral Foundation (buttery gold)

– EDM Blush in “Weekend Getaway”
– Milani “Luminous” Blush
– MAC Beauty Powder in “Drizzlegold”

– MAC Paint Pot in “Cash Flow” (all over the lid as a base)
– Milani Wet/Dry Eyeshadow in “Shamrock” applied WET on the lid just above the crease
– Milani Wet/Dry Eyeshadow in “Bronze Doll” contoured right above “Shamrock”
– Nixie Liquid Eyeliner in Black
– L’Oreal Carbon Black Telescopic Mascara
– AVON Jumbo Eye Pencil in “Celadon” on lower lashline

– NYX Lipgloss in “Beige” (it’s NOT beige! it’s PINK but they call it Beige)

CVS Haul & Swatches of the MAC Slimshines I have…

Today is President’s Day and I don’t usually get it off, but for some reason my boss sent a staff email saying we have it off! So I plan on going to the MAC PRO store and picking up a few PRO eyeshadows and pigments, as well as a Lip Erase. In case you are wondering, ANYONE can shop at the MAC PRO store, you do not have to be a member, MAC PRO stores can be scarce, so if you want you can also call the 800 number on and have items shipped to you for a nominal fee.

The BF and I just stayed at home pretty much all day yesterday which was nice because I have been feeling so burnt out lately with everything since there are so many deadlines to be met, that it was nice to just sleep in and just eat! Eventually around 7pm, we got hungry again and went to dinner, and after dinner we went to CVS. As usual, I can NEVER walk into a CVS without something!

After Kia from Yummy411 mentioned the new Milani wet/dry eyeshadows (which I believe are the same ones Rachel told me about months ago), I had to check them out myself! CVS always has deals, and luckily they had a BUY ONE, GET ONE 50% off deal going on for these eyeshadows!

I also wanted to try Physician’s Formula’s new Organic Wear, so I bought their tinted moisturizer. It claims to have no harsh chemicals, parabens, synthetic preservatives, colors, or fragrances. It also has SPF15. I have yet to try it on my face, but I tried it on my hand and it looks PROMISING. Of course I will do a product review on it after my testing phase…

Essence of Beauty (my favorite drugstore brushes), has a new brush called the “Blending Brush” and unlike the smaller version of itself, this is much bigger and I think it’s great for applying mineral foundation on smaller, hard-to-reach areas such as the under eye and sides of the nose (which I find great difficulty in using a big buffer brush).

The boyfriend took the word “Eye Makeup” TOO LITERALLY! LOL:

The COLORS of each one (in order, see red circle):

And here are the Slimshine swatches I have:

CVS Haul

So since CVS was having a buy one get one free sale, I had to stop by after work despite the fact that it is raining and hailing where I live…

I also took pics of the new makeup stands they have, Milani is coming out with a lot of AWESOME products such as mascara, eyebrow kits, brush on foundation, and more! I was so surprised because LUMINOUS blush is back and better than ever! It was discontinued by Milani (I have the old discontinued version), but the new one comes in a compact with a mirror and a brush! Since I was worried they might take it out again, I bought a new one for my purse!

Sally Hansen also came out with a nailpolish pen, haven’t tried it yet (I got hot pink), but im iffy about the brush…doesn’t seem like it would do the job. I also got L’Oreal HIP Pigments since they were also buy one get one free, I bought “Unashamed” and “Progressive”. “Unashamed” looks like MAC Pigment in “Gold Stroke” so that is being added to the dupe list…. :)

Neutrogena also has these eyeshadow kits that can help many of you who are new to makeup, they have one color for the base (all over eyeshadow), and another color that goes just above the crease to make your eyes pop!

Sally Hansen Nailpolish Pen

The brush tip:

To dispense the nailpolish, you must push down the agitator (similar to an asthma inhaler):

Swatches, see how similar it looks to “Gold Stroke”?!

Gotta have my pinkberry!

Back to makeup! [sorry they are huge, but just so you can see the detail!]

FOTD- Using Milani Eyeshadows

Reader Liz had a request for a FOTD using ONLY Milani eyeshadows for a majority of the look, so here is a FOTD using just that!

I also added some looks from the past that also feature some eyeshadows from Milani as well as a pic of some of the Milani eyeshadows I have…

What I used:

– Silk Naturals Foundation

– MAC Beauty Powder in “SoftFlame”

– Milani e/s in “Snow Frost” (entire lid)
– Milani e/s in “Silver Bullet”(lower half of the lid)
– Milani e/s in “Storm” (outer-V and contour)
– ULTA eyeshadow in “Shell” as highlight
– MAC Fluidline in “Nightfish”
– Maybelline Curl XXL Mascara in Blackest Black
– Covergirl gel eyepencil in “Slate” on lower lashline and “silver bullet” e/s

– MAC Lipstick in “Creme de Femme”

Step 1:
I first added “Snow Frost” on my entire lid.

Step 2:
I then applied “silver bullet” on the lower half of my eyelid just above the crease.

Step 3:

Then using a small fluff eyeshadow brush I take a little bit of the “Storm” eyeshadow (a sparkly black) and apply it to the outer-V and contour the eye, and BLEND!

To get this result:

Step 4:

Then just line the eyes, apply your highlight above the browbone, mascara, and you are done!

Here are some past looks (or semi-looks) using some Milani eyeshadows:

Using Milani “Earthly Delights Quad” (my favorite quad!)

Milani e/s in “Shock” on the outer-V:

Natural Look: You can use Milani e/s in “Almondine” to replace MAC “Bisque” identical dupe, and used Milani e/s in “Antique Gold” (yes real lashes!):

Used Milani eyeshadows in “Shock” and “Storm for this look:

Milani e/s in “Enchantment” or “Icy Plum” (I don’t remember which one, but it was one of em), and “Storm”

As you can see the possibilities are endless! So you don’t need to spend a bundle just to look gorgeous!
