RAINBOW EYES FOTD: Using the Ben Nye Palette

Rmcandlelight asked how to apply eyeshadow to the inner corners of your eyes without making it look messy, and I use Essence of Beauty’s double-ended eyeshadow applicators to apply to the small spots such as the inner corner of the eye:

So here’s a look I finally did using the Ben Nye Palette:

What I used:

– Monistat Chafing Gel as primer
– MAC StudioFinish Concealer NC30
– Silk Naturals Mineral Foundation

– Silk Naturals “Tart Light”

Eyes (ALL from Ben Nye Palette, applied DRY):
– “Sun Yellow” on the inner corners of the eyes
– “Tangerine” applied after Sun Yellow
– Applied “Azalea” on the middle of the lid
– Applied “Amethyst” and “Cosmic Violet” on outer-V and contour
– On lower lashline: “Sun Yellow” (inner corner), “Chartreuse” (middle of lower lashline), “Jade” (outer lashline)
– “Ice” as highlight
– Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner Pencil on upper lashline and waterline
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

– MAC Mattene l/s in “Immodest”
– NYX Lipgloss in “Barbie Pink”

EOTN: Bright Rainbow Eyes & Leopard Eyes

So for the next week or so, I will be going back in time and making posts for all the different swatches I currently have to date. Each post will be unique in correlation to ALL of the swatches for that company. (NYX, MAC, Pure Luxe, etc)

The reason for this is because while we are in the process of transitioning to the new site, I figure it’s best to re-organize everything and put all the swatches in it’s own post as well as help those who are new to this blog.

There are going to be many big things for the next two weeks, so bare with me if it seems like we are going all over the place!

Here are some upcoming posts I am trying to hammer out (in no particular order):

– Product Review: MAC Fix+ Spray
– How to know which lippie to choose with your eyemakeup
– Honey Brown Tutorial

Now on to the show, I got bored so I started playing with bright colors and such, I was just messing around so I didn’t really go through all the effort of applying eyeliner/mascara/fake eyelashes, etc. Especially since I was about to take a shower I got lazy, LOL.

What I used:
– MAC Chrome Yellow e/s
– Pure Luxe e/s in Venom
– Pure Luxe e/s in Bloom
– Pure Luxe e/s in Grape
– Pure Luxe e/s in Shameless on lower lashline & wing
– Nixie l/e
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

– All of the above
– MAC l/s in Melrose Mood

What I used:
– MAC PRO Pigment in “Bright Fuchsia” all over lid
– Nixie Liquid Eyeliner to draw the “spots”
– MAC “Golden Lemon” Pigment inside spots
– Pure Luxe “Grape” on lower lashline

Am I excited that NKOTB is reuniting? Hell to the YEAH! Haha, I swear I was 9 years old when they were such a hit and man did I love them, LOL. So I thought id make my desktop at work my little dedication to them for all the fun memories, haha.

Got my items today from Mario Badescu ( and my mixing medium, I love ’em!

FOTD: Candylicious Eyes

My favorite color is purple. I think purple paired with ANY color is just gorgeous! So I did a look on Friday and I actually liked it a lot. I was able to play with makeup while the BF took a nap, hehe.

– Monistat chafing gel as primer
– MAC StudioFinish Concealer NC30
– Silk Naturals Foundation

– Valerie Beauty “Coquette” Blush

– MAC “Painterly” PP
– MAC e/s in “Mylar” all over the lid
– MUFE Flash Paint Pot in “Blue” as base on lower lid
– Milani “Sea Angel” e/s over MUFE
– MUFE eyeshadow #126 (I think) on outer-V and contour
– Pure Luxe “Amethyst” applied damp on outer-V and contour
– MAC Fluidline in “Nightfish”
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara
– Ardell Babies
– Ardell Magic Lash

– MAC l/s in “Melrose Mood”
– MAC l/g in “Starlet Kiss”

And since everyone is doing them virtual makeovers, I thought id do one on Jon’s niece and it was pretty hilarious. It’s my main pic on my MySpace and people thought I really put makeup on a baby, HAHA, no no, i’d never do that! But it was just so cute. I sent it to her mom and she loved her princess’s new makeover, LOL.

It’s a pretty cool site, in case you are wondering I did it on

FOTD & Tutorial: Mermaid Look #2- Sour Apple, Ransom, and Violet

So why #2? Because there’s a #1! CLICK HERE for Mermaid Look #1…

So here is a look I did on Saturday, I actually liked it and I personally think this is one of the best looks i’ve done…my best friend loved it too when we had lunch on Saturday because she said it’s not too crazy and definitely wearable.

I came up with this look because I really wanted to use “Sour Apple” as it has been sitting in my sample drawer for quite some time, and as soon as I started I just knew what colors I wanted to use.

*ALL COLORS APPLIED WET (Except for UD “Ransom”)

I used Pure Luxe e/s in “Sour Apple”, UD “Ransom” on Outer-V, and MAC “Violet” Pigment on contour.

I look fat and weird…lol.

What I used:
– Pure Luxe Eraser (as primer)
– MAC StudioFinish Concealer NC 30
– Silk Naturals Foundation

– MAC Fafi Blush “Fashion Frenzy”
– MAC MSF in “Global Glow” as highlight

– MAC PP in “Soft Ochre” all over the lid up to brow bone
– Pure Luxe e/s in “Sour Apple” applied WET on lower half of the lid just above the crease and lower lashline
– MAC “Violet” Pigment applied slightly wet on contour and lower lashline
– Urban Decay e/s in “Ransom” on Outer-V only
– MAC “Vanilla” Pigment as highlight
– MAC Fluidline in “Nightfish”
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

– MAC Mattene l/s in “Immodest”
– MAC “Negligee” Lipglass

Should look like this:

***Don’t worry if eyeshadow gets in your eyelashes, a few coats of mascara on the top and bottom of your lashes should fix this.

Should look like this by now…

Apply highlight of your choice and BLEND that sucker to soften harsh lines, mesh the colors, whichever you want…

You can use black eyeliner for the lower lashline, I personally hate lining the lower lashline with black eyeliner because it’s too dark for my light skin and it gets in my eyes, so I usually opt for a slate/charcoal grey…

Christmas 2007 & Purple, Green & Blue FOTD

This year was the first Christmas where I really felt like an adult. As a kid, (and being the only child for 9 years!) I got everything I wanted from Santa, we had a true white Christmas with blankets of snow…and more! I would always make wish lists for my parents, and really be into Christmas because it’s my absolute favorite holiday! But being that I turn 26 years old next year, I am starting to see that Christmas is for the kids…and I think for me its hard to accept that I am no longer a kid sometimes. I feel like I grew up too fast, especially since I am the eldest I had to play mom to my little sisters at one point. I think in general, I just miss the ENTIRE family coming together under one roof, and nowadays since all the kids are in college, and everyone moved out of state, it’s just Christmas with my boyfriend, parents, and grandparents.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love Christmas and I am still young at heart and I am like a little kid. My dad always says no matter how old I am, I am still his little girl….but now instead of getting questions like “What do you want from Santa?”, they are replaced with “So when are you getting married?”, “When are you having kids?”, haha I just think its crazy how time flies by so fast. I really do miss Christmas the way I remember it being as a child…

Just some pics from this past holiday:

Cooking up a storm at my house:

Got my Pure Luxe order!

My sister reading her card:

My youngest sister surprised she got the #1 item on her wish list: a PINK nintendo DS!

Jon opening up another gift…

My gorgeous, yet bratty sister and lucky her, she doesn’t need much makeup, but we just lined the eyes, added some mascara and gloss, and some sephora blush :

My outfit:

The hair! haha

The sibling and me:

This look I created to match my dress which had prominent colors of purple, green, and a turquoise blue. I used some of my Pure Luxe Minerals I received….

What I used:

– Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
– Silk Naturals Foundation

– MAC “Dollymix” blush
– Pure Luxe “Haydria” blush

– MAC e/s in “Wondergrass” (as base on inner corner, 1/3 of the lid)
– MAC Pigment in “Golden Olive” and Pure Luxe “Tart” e/s (on top of “Wondergrass”)
– MAC e/s in “Parrot” (middle of the lid)
– Pure Luxe e/s in “Shameless” (over “Parrot”)
– MUFE e/s #9 (outer part of the lid)
– Mad Minerals e/s in “Kunzite” on outer-V
– MAC e/s in “Nocturnelle” on outer half of lid
– MAC “Violet” Pigment (on outer half of the lid and on outer corner of the lower lashline)
– Pure Luxe e/s in “Shameless” (on lower lashline)
– MAC “Vanilla” Pigment and ULTA eyeshadow in “Shell” and “Gold Leaf” (highlight)
– Indelible Gel Eyeliner in “Black Out”
– Covergirl “Lash Blast” in Black

– Wet N’ Wild Lipstick
– MAC “Scanty” Lipstick

FOTD: Rainbow Eyes (C-Shock Dupe)

I LOVE the LA Colors eyeshadow palette! For you ladies who missed the C-Shock Collection from MAC (like I did) which featured bright eye-popping colors, this palette is a great dupe of it, and of course at a great price! It is available on, the palette is called “Pixi”, although the label on mine said “Tease”.

Here is the look I did using ONLY the colors in this palette. As you can see, the color payoff (pigmentation) is awesome, comes out vibrant in just one swipe. I did NOT use a base or primer, this is just straight on my eyelid.

For the lips, I used NYX Lipgloss in “Barbie Pink”:

Excuse the un-groomed eyebrows, I did this look at the end of the day…so I was already worn out haha…
