FOTD: Finally using my “Port Red” lipstick!

I have been dying to use my “Port Red” lipstick from MAC’s Naughty Nauticals Collection, red lipstick isn’t usually the norm for me hence I haven’t had time to squeeze it in a FOTD.

I used it along with MAC’s “Fanplastico” Lip Laquer (gorgeous color btw).

As for my eye makeup and all that jazz, it’s the same FOTD using my Neo-Science eyeshadows, “Magnetic Fields”, “Evening Aura”, and “Femme Fi”.

Valentine’s Day Look #1 and #2- Hot Sexy Red Lips

Valentine’s Day is around the corner ladies! And for you single sexy ladies, you do NOT need a man to look hot! So primp yourself up and have fun! Valentine’s Day shouldn’t deter you from looking extra cute, so grab all your girlfriends and get the attention of all the single guys!

For you ladies who have that special man in your life who treats you as if Valentine’s Day is 365 (366 on leap years!), then show him what you have been hiding under your everyday look! It’s amazing what a little color can do!

Similar to my Holiday Look this is more simple and played down, since I only used two eyeshadows to complete this look. The focal point is obviously the lips, so you don’t want to over-do the eyes and make it too much too handle.

You always want a balance in your look, if you are going to do a bright pair of lips, then tone down the eyes, a smoky eye look, then go with a neutral pink lip. Just like if you were wearing a tube top, paired with jeans and you look adorable, paired with a short skirt, you look hoochie, you want BALANCE.

The lips are pretty red, but to some computer monitors, they may look a bit pink…

What I used:

– Camellia Rose Skin Soothing Primer
– MAC StudioFinish Concealer NC30
– Silk Naturals Foundation (Buttery Gold)

– Milani “Cherries on Top” Blush

– MAC Paint Pot in “Soft Ochre” as base all over the lid
– MAC Pigment in “Your Ladyship”
– Pure Luxe e/s in “Cashmere”
– Nixie Liquid Eyeliner
– Covergirl Lashblast Mascara
– Nobi Kohl Eyeliner on lowerlashline (smudged)

– NYC Lipstick in “Retro Red”
– AVON Lip Radiance in “Rich Red”

This morning’s look was subdued, I just used NYX single eyeshadow in “Rust”, I know this look may look a bit goth and make me look somewhat ‘dead’, but I like it for some reason, nice mysterious look….for the lips I used, MAC l/s in “Masque”, and Sally Hansen Diamond Lipgloss in “Champagne” over it.

I also got a new lipstick from Rimmel (surprise surprise!) they are coming out with a new lipstick line (thank goodness), I am not a fan of their current ones…

This one is called “Airy Fairy”, lovely nudish pink lipstick and gotta love the name!

Company Holiday PARTY!

It’s been busy since Friday, so this coming week i’ll spend more time on your questions ladies, I appreciate your patience. :) I will be having another liquidation sale very soon, either before the New Year or early January. I am waiting on some new arrival items to also sell, so that’s pretty much why I am waiting. Also CHARLENE asked about the colors in my new ULTA Palette in my last post, it’s as follows:

Top Row (L to R):
Turquoise, Flirty, and Deep Sea
Bottom Row (L to R): Sterling, Nixie Eyeshadow in Raining Dream, and Amethyst

Now finally…my holiday party look! I decided to go with a bold red lip look simply because I know I don’t do it that often so I wanted to make my dress pop a bit more.

– MAC Blush in “Dollymix”

FOTD: Christmas Red + How I apply my foundation

I had a reader who asked me if I can show how I apply my foundation to achieve the flawless, “airbushed” look (I will try and do a video as well so it’s much easier to follow, but for now settle for some pics!).

I also did a Christmas red look because even though I am not a fan of red, I DO love Christmas! It’s my favorite holiday and thought i’d try playing down the eyes and bringing the lips out a bit more.

So read on to see how I did it!

What I used:

– For contouring my nose and jawline, MAC Sculpting Powder in “Sculpt”

– MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
– MAC “Golden Lemon” Pigment all over the eyelid
– MAC Smokey Eyes Holiday Palette, I used “Palatial” on my outer V and contour
– MAC Pigment in “Provence”, I used that wet and applied it on the first half of my lid to brighten it up a bit
– Indelible Gel Eyeliner in “Black Out”
– AVON Mascara

– Everyday Minerals “Email Me” Blush, applied it using my MAC 136 brush
– MAC Gold Spill for Highlight

– LA Girl Lip Palette in Delicious (used the red color)
– NYC Lipstick in red
– Sparkly Clear Lipgloss

From start to finish:

I just got outta the shower but wanted to try the red gloss to see how it looks…this is no foundation or anything yet, just the gloss.

I love the Physician’s Formula Concealer Duo, it has a yellow base to cover up dark circles and a natural skin color base to cover the yellow giving a more bright, awakened look. I apply it all around my eye area including all over the eyelid.

An old pic, but it’s how to apply concealer with your taklon brush, dab it gently across…

See the difference?

Now applying my foundation!!!!!

I take my MAC 180 brush and dab it lightly on top of the sifter to grab a little foundation, if I accidentally grab too much I just tap it on top of the cover to get rid of the excess foundation. You can also tap all of the foundation onto the cover and then swirl it with your brush so that the foundation evenly goes on your brush. This also ensures no blotchy marks or area during application. Also be sure to let your primer or moisturizer to FULLY dry before you apply your foundation or else you will get dark patches in certain spots.

Then just BUFF in a CIRCULAR MOTION all over your face, do the nose and chin last as those areas don’t need too much foundation.

And now for the FOTD!

I applied “Palatial” from the holiday smokey eyes palette in windshield wiper motions from the outer V and contour.

I then applied a little “Provence” Pigment wet onto my lid to brighten up the look.

A natural look for everyday wear!
