I will do a FORMAL review on these soon, I have just been SO unbelievably busy! I think I am biting off more than I can chew, but what can I say, I get hungry…lol. I will include pics of these on my lips in my formal review, but for now here are some swatches to tickle your fancy! One end to give you fully pigmented long lasting color, and one end to shine!

I didn’t get all of them, just 5 that I liked…I never tried these before (MAC version), so I was eager to just get a few to see how I like them….just gotta wait and see till my review! Sorry the swatches were “smudged”, the BF thought it would be cool to test the staying power by holding hands….ugh! LOL!

*Sorry I accidentally put “White on top”, but it’s “White Top”…

Product Review: I <3 MAC Pro Gloss! (Creme Brilliance)

Yesterday was the 3 year anniversary with the BF, so we went to Roy’s Hawaiian restaurant and it was pretty good! It was our first time there, I didn’t take any pics but the food looked delicious! I can’t believe it’s been 3 years (5 years altogether), but geez louise does time fly!

He got me a card that had excerpts of the silly conversations we would have when we were friends. At the time we were both in other relationships, it’s so funny how things work out… :)

Anyway, as you know from my recent MAC Haul, I got the MAC PRO Gloss in “Rosy Coral”, it looked gorgeous on Christine from Temptalia especially since I have been looking for that perfect coral shade! And I ABSOLUTELY love it!

Product: 5 out of 5
Packaging: 4 out of 5
Quality: 5 out of 5
Overall: 5 out of 5
Shade used: “Rosy Coral”
Price: $14 to non-MAC Pro members, only available at MAC PRO stores and, NOT freestanding MAC stores.

MAC describes it as: Shine the skin in shades of Gloss. Lightly tinted, adds a sophisticated shine, gloss, and polish to the skin, as it lays down a tone. Apply anywhere you require, shine, gloss, highlight, or as a provocative colour accent.

What it is used for: Can be used anywhere such as highlighting the cheekbones, but the consistency really is that of an actual gloss (think liplgoss) so it’s sticky in the sense that it doesn’t “feel” right on the skin (I tried). I read on forums that many tried to use it as an eyeshadow and it was just too sticky, maybe perhaps as base (like a Vaseline base to hold eyeshadows better) but I personally just use it as an actual LIP gloss….

PROS: Wide range of colors available, can be used to enhance natural lip color or with any lipstick or other lipglosses. Very pigmented yet sheer at the same time so it’s give a nice tone to your lips. Stayed on my lips for a long time, no weird smell or taste, I liked that the packaging allowed me to put some on a lip brush rather that using a wand that comes in normal lip glosses, making it perfect for makeup artists to use on clients as it avoids contamination (just use disposable lip wands or brushes). I also didn’t find it to be overly sticky to where it was annoying.

CONS: Only available at MAC PRO stores and not the freestanding stores, cap can easily get lost….

Overall: When I get out of my “no-buy” situation (I am trying really hard NOT to buy anything!) then I would definitely pick up more colors! (I am eyeing “pink pearl”, “guava”, “sparkle gold”, and “Fuchsia hot”)

Here is a tutorial on how I used it with my “Cherish” lipstick from MAC: (FOTD with this lippie in my next post!)

Started first by applying MAC “Cherish” lipstick on lips (no primer on lips):

See how it enhances color and gives it incredible shine? Really makes lips luscious!

My PERFECT Coral shade!

L’Oreal HIP Jelly Balm vs. MAC Tendertones

Sorry for the obstruction of the watermarking…but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. Someone mentioned the coding to prevent “right clicking” but a person can steal the pics from “View Source” or screenshots…so this will have to do for now.

Product: 4 out of 5
Packaging: 3 out of 5
Overall: 4 out of 5
Price: $8, Walgreens and other drugstores
Color Tested: “Plush”
Would I buy it again? Yes because the product is awesome, but No because I hate potted lipglosses. :)

The L’Oreal HIP Line is growing and is definitely catching a huge audience with their new products and pigmented colors. They recently added a new product to the line- their Jelly Balms, which I compare as a decent dupe to the MAC Tendertones.

First of all, I personally am not a fan of “balms”, or potted glosses where you have to stick either a lip brush or your finger in…hence I passed on the Tendertones from MAC simply because I know that if I DID buy it, it would end up in my junk drawer because I would never use it.

But lo and behold, I walk into Walgreens (my second home, lol), and saw these new jelly lip pots from L’Oreal. They come in a wide range of sheer, yummy looking colors, I got a sheer baby pink color called “Plush”. I immediately thought of the Tendertones as soon as I saw these.

So how do they compare?
Well even though I don’t own any of the Tendertones, I have tried them, and they are a bit sticky (just as I expected) and since I always have my hair down, me and sticky don’t go together. However, it’s not TOO sticky, so I can live with it for the most part, and I DO love how they have different ranges of sheer color in the Tendertones. The L’Oreal Jelly Balms are an awesome dupe of the MAC Tendertones, they feel about the same in terms of texture and consistency except they are NOT as sticky to me and of course they too feel moisturizing on the lips, so there is no noticeable difference among the two. The color is also sheer with a touch of pink, and they both come in pots and smell awesome! This jelly balm smells and tastes like cotton candy. I would say the only difference is that the MAC Tendertones seem to have a bit more product in it than the Jelly Balms BUT it could also be the jar just making it look like there is more.

Also, the Tendertones are $14.50, whereas the Jelly Balms are a reasonable $8.

Overall? Whether you are a MAC addict or not, these Jelly Balms are hard to pass up!

Silk Naturals Kiss Bliss Demi Glosses, Camellia Rose Skin Soothing Primer, & Flirt! Bronzer

I finally got my Camellia Rose Skin Soothing Primer (Version 2) from Jen from If you are new to reading my blog, you can read my product review on her primer, it’s a really good primer and smells so nice. I know some of you might ask what the difference is between this primer and the Monistat primer, personally they both work the same, but obvious differences are that the Camellia-Rose primer is all natural and smells heavenly. It’s more creamier than the Monistat primer, but they both have “Dimethicone” which a common polymer among makeup primers including Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. She also sent me a sample of her “Bye Bye Zit” which I have yet to try!

I have an obsession with lippies, that my collection is growing non-stop, but I can’t help it! With the Silk Naturals Kiss Bliss Demi Glosses, it’s hard NOT to buy these! They come on like a dream, so smooth and moisturizing, and giving your luscious lips pigmented color. If any of you have tried the Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmers, it’s almost the same in terms of texture and the way it feels. My favorite color is “Divine”, it’s such a nice nude lippie!

I bought “Capricious” (which is supposedly a dupe of MAC’s “Utterly Frivolous”), “Grace”, a nice rosy pink, and “Divine” a nude lippie with a touch of pink.

These lip swatches were made with NO BASE, just straight on my natural lips:

I had a coupon for Kohl’s, so I took a gander to see what they have since Kohl’s ALWAYS has good sales, and ended up getting Flirt! Cosmetics Bronzing Powder in “Golden Minx”, which makes a great contour powder as well as giving that subtle summer glow. I love it because it has little shimmer, and I mean VERY little shimmer which I like because sometimes blushes or powders that have shimmer can be too overpowering and make you look shiny, but this had the perfect amount of shimmer.

MAC Dazzleglass- Funtabulous!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Life has been so overwhelming, but in a GOOD way. :)
Erica and I have been packing all the pigments, so for any of you who ordered, it has either already been shipped out or will be shipped out tomorrow or Thursday. We have lost many, many hours of sleep but finally we are finishing up the last batch of orders, whew!

We are going to be getting more colors soon, “Pinked Mauve”, “Blue”, “Your Ladyship”, “Goldstroke”, right now we have “Provence” and “Copperized” both LE (limited editions).

I will be having an online store on my new website (which got sidetracked because we’ve been working on the pigment orders!) so once it’s up and running, you may see some of your must-have’s! Ardell Lash Growth Accelerator, Sonia Kushuk Brushes, etc.

Some of you asked whether the L’Oreal De-Crease was new, and it’s not. It’s actually been around for a year now, LOL. And I just barely got around to reviewing it. I used the eyeshadow “Parrot” to swatch (since some of you also asked what e/s I used). Someone asked where I got my white purse (the pic of me and my friend), I got it as a gift… :)

I bought “Funtabulous” Dazzleglass because I simply loved “Baby Sparks” when I first got it (before it even came out), and I love this color! It looks great over pink lipsticks to give it a purple tinge, I used it over Fafi’s “Fun N’ Sexy” Lipstick and it was yummy looking!
