Kim Kardashian Inspired Look

A few weeks ago I saw this pic online of gorgeous Kim Kardashian, and what was so striking to me were the hot pink lips and of course the sexy sultry cat eyes, but mainly the lips, LOL! Even though her pic is a bit washed out so it’s hard to tell the true colors, you can still sorta get an idea of how it probably looks like up close. I am a lipstick kind of a gal, so I was excited to play around with a similar look and do a hot pink lip.
It was just an inspired look, meaning I just wanted to do something similar but with my own little twist just for fun. I am in no way saying it looks like KK’s version, or that I am KK, lol. I thought i’d add some false lower lashes for a more dramatic effect, but the bottom two pics were taking from my cell phone and are without the lower lashes since it wasn’t the ‘finished’ product yet.
I kept the lid simple and basic, just applied MAC e/s in “Bisque” and “Bamboo” all over the lid, then applied Revlon’s liquid eyeliner in “Blackest Black” to mimic a cat eye and winged it out as well as on the inner corner of my eyes (if you look closely her eyeliner is also pointed on the inner corners of her lids), the upper & lower lashes are from, and lined the bottom with a no-name black eyeliner and smudged it out.
My camera made my blush look way darker than it was in person for some reason, but it was a lot lighter than shown! I used my Verhoeven Bronzer, and a mix of Tarte “Tipsy” blush and MAC “True Romantic”. I applied a dab of MAC MSF in “Petticoat” on the apples of my cheeks for a little shimmer. And lastly, for the lips I used NYX lipliner in “Bloom” and Covergirl Lipstick in “Spellbound”.
 [What I used]:

Lancome Teinte Idol Ultra Foundation in Bisque 0 (W)
Graftobian HD Powder in “Soft Ivory”
Mary Kay Concealer in “Yellow”
MAC e/s in “Bisque” and “Bamboo” all over the lid
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black
No-name black eyeliner on lower lashline
KKcenterHK lashes on top and bottom (forgot the style)
Eyebrows (MAC e/s in “Espresso)
Mix of MAC “True Romantic” and Tarte “Tipsy” Blush
A dab of MAC MSF in “Petticoat” for shimmer
Verhoeven Bronzer for contouring
– NYX Lipliner in “Bloom”
– Covergirl Lipstick in “Spellbound”
When I was starting the look…it wasn’t yet finished:

Halloween Look: Hollywood Glam/Pinup Girl [a bit pic heavy!]

This was actually requested by my bestie Erica, and a few other gals as a Halloween look (sorry it’s a bit pic heavy, it’s also my main profile pic). It actually came out better than I envisioned it granted i’ve never played with this “era” before. I also used the MUFE HD foundation for this look. Isn’t it flawless??! It just gives an awesome look! I got the flower from an accessory store (I think it was “Amuse”). The steps I used are a bit similar to the Matryoshka FOTD in the sense that I used a neutral base and falsies, but I skipped out on the thick eyeliner and falsies at the bottom for a more classic, vintage look. Since I have a beauty mark by default I didn’t need to create one haha. I also used “Stark Naked” blush and “Petticoat” MSF on my cheeks.

My inspiration was actually Dita Von Teese & the model from “Red She Said”. Long black arm gloves would compliment this look and make a great costume. I also did a quick video below on how I did my hair for this FOTD.

Also, someone asked me about the size of the Urban Decay 24/7 travel kit, in comparison to the original, it’s actually over half the size of the original, so you get all the colors at a good price! (I’ll take a pic soon).

– Primed face with Monistat Chafing Gel, then applied MUFE’s HD Liquid Foundation in #127 with Beauty Blender Sponge.
– Apply your concealer
– Apply your eye primer, I used MAC PP in “Soft Ochre”.
– Sweep your lids with a neutral eyeshadow, such as patina. I mixed mine with: Patina, Soba, and Ricepaper.
– Highlighted using: Shroom or Ricepaper, Femme-Fi is good too.
– Apply eyeliner (I used Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner in Black) starting from the middle of the lid, and wing outward. Then you can fill the inner with eyeliner. I applied 3 dots at the end of the ‘wing’, but this is optional.
– Apply thick falsies for an elegant look that stands out. I used NYX’s False Eyelashes in 101 (they are the ones that have a criss-cross pattern).
– Lined my lower lashline with Urban Decay’s 24/7 Pencil in “Zero”, then smudged it with a Q-tip for a smokey look.
– For the cheeks I used MAC brush #109 and applied “Stark Naked” Beauty Powder Blush on the apples of my cheeks and swept up towards me ear, then applied MAC MSF in “Petticoat” on top.
– Contoured with “Emote” blush.
– Used MAC lipstick in “Port Red” on lips, with MAC “Fanplastico” lip laquer on top for shine.

Don’t mind my Tyra banks five head, LMAO!

What I used:

– Monistat Primer
– MAC Studio Finish Concealer NC35
– MUFE HD Foundation
– MAC “Emote” blush to contour

– MAC “Stark Naked” Blush
– MAC MSF in “Petticoat”

– Anastasia Brow Whiz pencil in “brunette”
– Anastasia Brow Filler

– MAC Paint Pot in “Soft Ochre” all over the lid
– MAC e/s in “Patina”, “Soba” & “Ricepaper” all over lid
– MAC “Shroom” as highlight
– Revlon Liquid Eyeliner in “Black”
– NYX False Eyelashes #101
– Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in “Zero” on lower lashline

– Too Faced Borderline Anti-Feathering Pencil
– MAC lipstick in “Port Red”
– MAC Lip Laquer in “Fanplastico”

Daytime (NO FLASH):

Corset worn (from when I used to work at Forever 21 like 5 years ago! LOL):

Quick video on how I did my hair:

Halloween Look & Tutorial: I’m a Leopard!

I was bored and wanted to get out of my comfort zone, so I decided to play with my Mehron palettes, to create a simple leopard look you ladies you can do for Halloween. I did it superfast so of course you can cater it to your liking, make it neater, etc. Especially since some costumes cost an arm and a leg nowadays, or if you really don’t feel like dressing up, you can quickly whip this up…AND it’s totally work safe! LOL. You can also customize it to your preference(make it sexier or scarier), I just created the basis for the look so feel free to add your own accessories, outfit, etc. I was gonna make the nose bigger (using more black) and I forgot!

I will be doing more Halloween looks so stay tuned!

What I used:
Mehron “Tropical” Palette
– Halloween White Face Paint
– Halloween Black Crayon
– Revlon Liquid Eyeliner
– Fangs (optional)

– Mehron “Tropical” Palette: Mix of yellow and coral color to create the color of the face, dabbed it on with a sponge, let dry.
– Using white face paint (or similar), create the area around the eyes and mouth, let it dry.
– Using the Halloween black crayon, create the nose and mouth area.
– Using the black liquid eyeliner, create the “whiskers” and “spots”.
– Apply eyeliner and mascara
– Using the brown color in the Mehron “Pastel” palette and a concealer brush, create the “leopard spots” on your face, then with black eyeliner create the border of the spot.

Apply black lipstick, eyeliner and, mascara…

FOTD: Himegyaru & Ganguro (Kawaii)

I have answered many of your questions regarding the MAC Creme Liners vs. MAC Fluidlines, it’s in the original post below. :)

This Himegyaru FOTD is the same steps used in the Matryoshka doll fotd, except I changed a few things to turn it into the Himegyaru, a Japanese fashion style. I changed the lips and cheeks, the lips are “Melrose Mood” lipstick from the MAC Heatherette collection, and the cheeks I used a bright pink color from the Auraline Blush Palette. I also used Freshlook Colorblends Contacts in “Green”.

I missed Pink’s contest on this one (I didn’t submit it on time even though the pics were sitting in my camera), so I thought id do it anyway…there are so many fashion styles in Japan so forgive me if the last pic is not really ganguro but another form, I couldn’t really distinguish all of them because frankly, they all looked the same to me!

I would never go out in public like this, lol. But I had fun doing it nonetheless. I didn’t have a big old bow or a pink dress so I improvised with what I have for the Himegyaru look.

Here are some images of Himegyaru, “Princess Gal”, many websites describe this style as: “The girls dress up like a princess: Their hair is baggy at the top, curled at the bottom and mostly dyed blonde or brown. Ribbons are not only adorning their hair but their dresses, too- Himegyaru’s are famous for their expensive, velvet and cute clothes which are embroidered with laces and pearls.”

The second FOTD is another, more well-known Japanese style, Ganguro. Usually the girls have bright blonde or white hair, but I didn’t have a wig handy nor was I going to strip my hair just for a FOTD, LOL. I also wanted it to be a little more “scary” so I didn’t really follow the photo to a tee.

is described as: “In ganguro fashion, a deep tan is combined with hair dyed in shades of orange to blonde, or a silver gray known as “high bleached”. Black ink is used as eyeliner and white concealer is used as lipstick and eyeshadow. False eyelashes, plastic facial gems, and pearl powder are often added to this”

I then tried it with a big flower handband:

Dress I bought last year from Forever21 of course all WRINKLY because I sat on it…

Then to turn it into a wearable look, I simply removed the colored contacts and lower lashes:

(Don’t mind my undone crazy brows haha)

What I used:

– EDM Mineral Foundation in “Light Tan”

– NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in “Milk”
– MUFE Flash Pot in White
– Smashbox Eyeshadow in “Midnight Black”
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

– MAC l/s in “Myth”
– NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in “Milk”

Tutorial & FOTD: Matryoshka Doll

I’ll be posting a few fotd’s that are from the same day, I just re-vamped certain things to make each of them a bit different, but for now here is my version of the Matryoshka doll look since I have become so obsessed with them! The key to the look of these dolls are their lashes and tiny doll lips.

The reason I used the technakohl instead of the liquid eyeliner right off the bat to outline is because the technakohl serves as a buffer to prevent the liquid eyeliner to bleed or cross the outline, or to prevent smudges when you blink.

Fill in the space with liquid eyeliner (I used Revlon’s Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner):

Apply mascara to your natural lashes, and then apply your falsies:

I then applied my foundation…

…And blush…

Then applied lower lashes:

I left a little space to apply eyeliner:

What I used:

– Fyrinnae Mineral Foundation in “Sunstone”
– Lorac Concealer

– Silk Naturals Blush in “Forbidden”

– MAC PP in “Painterly” all over the lid
– Mix of MAC e/s: Mylar, Omega, and Patina
– Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner
– Ardell #102 Demi lashes
– Sassi #33 Lower lashes
– MAC Technakohl Eyeliner in “Graphblack”

– Anastasia Brow Whiz Pencil
– Anastasia Brow Filler in “Brunette”

– Sephora Red Lipliner
– NYX “Chaos” Lipstick
– MAC Lipstick in “Port Red”
– NYX lipgloss in “Plush Red”

Challenge Look: Politically Pretty

Brittany from Clumps of Mascara and Kia from Yummy411 held a “Politically Pretty” Challenge in which we had to do a FOTD that is political-esque, either representing a party of our choice, or anything related.

Politics is very touchy in general, so I am not even going to talk about it, or who I am voting for sorta thing; but my inspiration behind this FOTD was America in general; our rights, freedom, etc. As much as I represent my home country (Canada, woot woot!), I LIVE in America- the United States of America, and I am PROUD to be here, and I am grateful for the things I have and what WE have in this country as citizens in comparison to some other third world countries, whose children are starving. It’s definitely important to have our voice be heard.

Without much further ado, here is my politically pretty FOTD! Don’t mind my lovely crooked star, I can’t draw stars if my life depended on it! So it’s now a nice oddly shaped dancing star! LOL.

What I used:

– Buff’d Mineral Foundation in “Chamois” (too light on me by itself)

– Flag: Mehron Tropical Palette (Red and Blue), WHITE: MUFE Flash Color Pot in White (also the star)
– Outlined with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in “Milk”
– MAC Fluidline in “Blacktrack”
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara
– Ardell Luckies Eyelashes
– MAC Technakohl Eyeliner in “Graphblack”

– MAC l/s in “Port Red”
– MAC lip lacquer in “Fun-plastico”
