Hair Routine: Organic Head Hair Products

Now that we are seguing into Fall, it’s time to ensure that my hair stays moisturized! I dye my hair quite a bit, and between that and living in the longest California summer – it’s hard to have healthy hair, or at least FEEL like I have healthy hair.

My hair tends to get “immune” to a lot of products, and after awhile, feels like it’s losing its effect, hence I am often in need of changing things around and trying new products. Luckily I was sent some Oh! OrganicHead hair products by Daniel Galvin Jr. to try out.  What intrigued me is that is that they used organic and botanical extracts in their products, and lately I have been trying harder to take a more conscientious approach to the things I put in, and on my body . The first time I used both the Shampoo and Conditioner ($8.99 each), I immediately could notice a difference, it was lathering up nicely and my hair didn’t feel like straw when I rinsed it out which is usually how it feels with some products where it only temporarily feels like it’s actually conditioning my hair.

I am really loving the Argan Oil Detox Hair Masque (naturally I am a sucker for masks!), really does a great job of restoring your hair to rockstar status, my hair was super soft and felt shiny and healthy. It is not like your normal hair conditioner, they suggest applying it on towel-dried hair and leaving it wrapped under a towel for about 25 minutes then rinsing it off. The shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing also! Definitely making it part of my daily hair routine.

teeze w/ eez teasing comb

I have very flat hair, with no volume to it whatsoever. I am sure if you have seen my past posts of my hair normally, it’s just stick straight and flat. I try to tease it with the regular rat tail combs, but it gets very tiring and tedious, and not to mention that sometimes it yanks on your hair.

Decided to try the teeze w/ eez comb ($12-14,, which is a professional teasing tool to give us flat haired gals more boost and volume. Because there are three rows of teeth, you backcomb easily in half the time, and it does not tangle your hair. Giving you nice volume with less work and hassle. It has a long handle that’s easy to grip, and the teeth are made of anti-static stainless steal, so you don’t have to worry about static head or flyaways.

I really like this teasing comb, it’s different, and most of all- does the trick and gives my hair lots and lots of volume. I just spritz a bit of hairspray on my hair and tease, and voila. Definitely something I always use now because it totally makes a difference! Just check out the pictures below!

Argan Oil From NumeStyle

I recently had the opportunity to try an Argan Oil from NuMe (, 4 fl. oz $59.99) which is described on their website as “Argan Oil is rich in Vitamin E and other beneficial fatty acids. Specially formulated for rapid absorption and penetration our pure Argon Oil brings a whole new level of shine and luster to even the most ravaged and damaged hair.”

Often times I dye my hair, or use a lot of hot tools like curling irons, flat irons, and blow dryers; which overtime, can damage my hair or make it feel dry and brittle. I have heard so many positive things about Argan oil as an aid to help moisturize the skin repairing damaged dry skin and rough spots, or to add in foundations; so it’s no surprise that that it’s making it’s way in the market to help dry or damaged hair.

After I shower, I apply a tiny bit of the oil (the size of a quarter) in my palms and rub my hands together to sort of warm it up, and then I apply it evenly all over my hair, concentrating on dry spots such as the ends of my hair, and then comb it through to ensure it’s evenly distributed. You can immediately notice how shiny and healthier your hair looks and feels. This oil is great at restoring moisture in your hair.

The bottle itself is roughly the size of your palm (4 fl oz) and made of glass, since you don’t need a lot of product to begin with, this bottle will definitely last you a long time (and I have really long hair!). The only thing I wish it had was a pump or some kind of stopper to avoid any leaks or spills, or even excess product (although the cap screws on pretty tight so I personally have not experienced any leaks).

Conair Heat Protection Mat & Pouch

Went to Walmart the other day and came across this Conair heat resistant pouch and mat roll for $7.98! And that’s the regular price! Since I recently got the NuMe Style Flat Iron and the Le Angelique Clipless Curling Iron, I needed a place I can store them in and that was also heat resistant so that I can store it immediately after use when I travel, and to have a place to set it on when I am doing my hair. Since these hair stylers get really hot, you can’t just set them anywhere without risk burning your table or things around it. So I am really glad I came across this because it does the job without breaking my wallet!

The design is super cute, and matches my pink hot tools (they have a few other designs as well); the pouch itself is removable (so you can get rid of the bulk of the roll and just use it as a storage pouch), it’s fastened to the mat by Velcro.  When you open the roll (which has two large buttons to keep it closed), the large space you unroll is the heat resistant mat, it’s large enough to hold a variety of regular and slightly larger curling iron sizes. The inside of the pouch is also insulated with heat protection material so you no longer have to wait for your curling iron or flat iron to cool. The entire roll itself is lightweight and easy to tote around and I was able to still fit my heat resistant glove in the pouch as well.

The only con I can say is that the pouch itself *may* not be big enough to hold larger curling irons or flat irons (taking into consideration their cords).

– The price! Can’t beat $7.98 and does the job!
– Removable zippered pouch- I like that it gives me the option to get rid of any bulk from the roll
– Pouch and mat in one is handy
– Comes in a few more other designs

– May not fit super large curling irons or flat irons.

Where to buy: Walmart stores (did not see this on their website,

How much? $7.98

Le Angelique Clipless Curling Iron

I love clipless curling irons, even though they can get tiring since you have to use both hands, I love the staying power and curl it gives. I was recently sent this 32mm Clipless Curling Iron ($145.95) in Pink from to try out and I am loving the amazing volume it gives me. I currently have an Enzo Clipless Curling Iron but the barrel is a lot smaller so I was impressed that the larger barrel on this one gave pretty curls and volume.

It comes with a heat protection glove (because it gets really hot!) and 2 pink hair clips to keep already curled hair back so you can curl the rest of your hair with ease. I like that it already came with the heat glove because there are tons of similar products out there where you would have to buy this separately, and personally I think it should be included by default because it gets really hot, without a glove it’s inevitable you will burn your fingers.

It also has a swivel cord, easy heat-up time, and it’s light-weight. It evenly distributes heat to prevent any damage to your hair. You can easily see the difference in my video, from my straight hair to major volume! And my curls stayed curly and lasted the next day, definitely recommend if you are having trouble keeping a curl. I also spray Big Sexy Hair hairspray on my curls to help keep them shiny and frizz-free.

NuMe Style Vintage Flat Iron…that also curls!

I had the wonderful opportunity to review the NuMe Style Vintage (Limited Edition) Flat Iron ($275) from I love that it’s not only hot pink, but it straightens and curls your hair. This flat iron is a little over an inch. It has rounded edges that encompasses the tourmaline ceramic plates, to help give you a nice curl. My old flat iron had a bit of a square edge so it was hard to curl with it.

Years ago, I never would dream to spend over $50 on a hot hair tool, but I can definitely see a difference with certain brands, and sometimes it’s just worth the investment of knowing you are not damaging your hair and you have something that will last you a really long time. I had the Conair Wet/Dry flat iron, Revlon Curling Irons, etc. and they never super straightened my hair or give me the long lasting curl I was looking for, and there were times I had curling irons that just broke after awhile. It took my fiance having to get me an Enzo Clipless Curling Iron to realize that with certain things- you get what you paid for. And if you love your hair, you definitely want the best for it.

So I am glad I was able to try this out because finally, I only need to take ONE hair tool when I travel, since it straightens and curls. My sister has to plug in a curling iron AND a hair straightener when she does her hair, and you just need one- this one.

The best part? It comes with a 3 year warranty and my hair was still just as curly even the day after I curled it!

From their website: Using pure ceramic plates ensures even distribution, eliminating the hot spots and chipping associated with conventional irons. Our tourmaline ceramic plates emit negative ions which seals moisture in the hair cuticle keeping your hair shiny, healthy and silky smooth.

– Negative Ion Technology reduces static and frizz for shinier, more manageable hair Rounded Barrels create curls or flips your hair

– Heats up with in seconds

– Built-in converter handles dual voltage from 110v to 240v (you must purchase the country’s proper plug adapter separately) Temperature: 410 degrees F

– Ergonomic design is easy to hold, handle and manipulate

– It does heat up pretty fast, the red light turns green when it’s ready
– The cord swivels at the base, so you don’t need to worry about it falling, or getting tangled in things
– The rounded edges helps give you a nice, long-lasting (and shiny!) curl
– It’s a little over an inch in barrel size, to give the perfect sized curl, and it’s easy to hold
– Can use it when traveling in other countries
– Can use it to flip your hair (like if you have layers), make loose beachy waves, or tighter curls
– Straightens fast and easy
– My curls lasted even the day after I curled it

– Does not come with a heat protection glove, pouch or a stand like some hair appliances do
– Can get really hot (like all hair applicances) so be careful
– This particular color is Limited Edition

Overall: This is a pretty good flat iron for me; I hardly do anything with my hair during the week other than straightening it, so I like that this does the job really fast, it straightens my hair in one pass, and I like that I can curl with it too, make flips to my hair, etc. The rounded edges are a major plus, it helps avoid that ‘L’-shaped curl and give you nice soft, bouncy curls. You can make beachy waves or round ringlets. I recommend if you straighten and/or curl all the time, and you are looking for a high-end quality flat iron that will last you a very long time. If you wanna see how I used it, and see the kind of curl it made, watch the video below. :)
