Described on the MAC Website as: A brush-on gel that strokes brows into shape. Adds shine and style. No flaking or stiffening. Tinted or clear. Also grooms lashes, sideburns and facial hair.
I was previously using Anastasia’s Brow Gel in “Caramel” which is my HG when it comes to brow gels because it gives a nice natural tint and keeps my eyebrows in place all day without feeling sticky or stiff. I decided to try and find something that’s a bit cheaper, and found MAC Brow Set in “Girl Boy”, it’s described as “fawn-blonde” in color ($15.00, http://www.maccosmetics.com). The reason I got something lighter than my normal eyebrow color is because I noticed that shades that are my color are a tad bit too dark, so I tend to go a shade or two lighter when it comes to eyebrow gels because it looks more natural and not as bold.
I am loving this brow set so far! It has a thin, easy-to-use brush so you can precisely set your brows and gives a nice subtle tint, and it does a great job at keeping any stray hairs in place.
I did a quick tutorial on using the Anastasia Brow Filler Wand (pictured), and I did a video using most of her products such as the Brow Pen I did a review on recently; just basic ways of applying some of her products as I know some of you had questions on specifically the brow pen marker. It’s very easy to use once you get the hang of it.
I don’t like my brows too thin, but this is just the general idea on using some of her products of course you can just tweak it to how you normally do your brows- there’s no right or wrong way! I have tons of product reviews in upcoming posts so bare with me!
I also made sure to add some extra lip smacking loving in the video!
A- Lay the pencil against the outside of your nose in a straight vertical line past the inner corner of the eye, with the tip of the pencil reaching up and onto the brow bone. Lift the pencil from the bottom until the pencil tip makes a dot where your eyebrow should begin (point A).
B – Use the pencil again and this time, start at the bottom of your nose and position the pencil in an 45 degree angle across the iris of your eye reaching up and onto the brow bone. Lift the pencil up from the bottom until the tip makes a dot where your eyebrow arch (highest point) should be.
C – Using the pencil again, this time start at the bottom of your nose and position the pencil in a 45 degree angle that reaches across the outside corner of your eye reaching up and onto the brow bone. Lift the pencil up from the bottom until the tip makes a dot where your eyebrow should end. (point C)
D-This is the plane line, so keep it in mind during your product application. Your eyebrow should start and end on the same plane (except for the bulb).
I am truly loving all the Anastasia Brow Products, and I will be reviewing them one by one as well as trying to get a few tutorials in here at the request of Lurve. Here is a review on the brow pen I got a couple weeks ago, and I love it! A must have in my makeup bag! It’s like a liquid eyebrow pencil (pen form), and it doesn’t tug like pencils do and gives a nice natural look.
Product: 4 out of 5 Packaging: 5 out of 5 Quality: 4.5 out of 5 Staying Power: 4.5 out of 5 Price: $21, Sephora.com & Sephora stores Color: Only one color, “Universal Shade” Would I buy again: YES!
You will LOVE this pen!
What they say: A long-wearing, soft-tipped brow pen. Anastasia Brow Pen glides on easily, clinging to both skin and hair, for a lush and natural look. Use it as a base to increase your current brow makeup’s staying power or to fill in sparse areas for a fuller look. It dries quickly, lasts all day, and its water-based formula is easily removed with soap and water.
I describe it as: A felt-tip marker pen, similar to that of watercolor pens used in art, light feather-like strokes is the way to apply this like you normally would with a regular eyebrow pencil, just gently stroking the color on in one direction.
PROS: – The color matches me, easy to use _ Great if you are in a hurry and don’t want to deal with messy powders or stencils – Easy to take with you in your purse or makeup bag, it’s in a pen form – $21, not too shabby since it’s a unique product, although there are many companies that are catching on to this revolutionary product such as the Kanebo version on Sasa.com, and it’s cheaper at $8 a pop, I just ordered that one too so I will compare the two once I receive it. – Gives a nice natural and soft look – Stays on for a majority of the day
CONS: – Only has one universal shade so it may not match everyone – It’s like a marker so it can rub/come off easily if you are touching your face, wearing a hat, working out, etc
Overall? I really enjoyed this product, it’s part of my daily eyebrow routine (yes tutorial coming soon!) and I like to mix it up by tracing my eyebrows with the Anastasia pencil, then filling it in with this brow pen or the Anastasia Brow Filler (future product review!). I would DEFINITELY buy this again because it’s just brilliant, easy to use, and since I am always in a rush it’s easy to do my brows when I am short on time. Also $21 is pretty reasonable…
I have had many requests to show my outfits, I always forget to take a pic before I leave the house so I will try and make a concerted effort to show them here on my site in a new series of what I call “Outfit of the Day”, it won’t be everyday since I often am in jeans and a shirt when I go to work, but those frequent occasions when I want to get a bit more dressed up, I will definitely post them on here. I also will be doing more posts that are not makeup related but hopefully helpful nonetheless (hair, art projects, how-to’s, etc), so stay tuned!
Here is just a zebra-print shirt with a faux black leather belt and gold buckle (already attached to the shirt), with a dark charcoal pair of skinny jeans, which would look great with Oxford booties or a pair of knee-high boots. Because it’s so damn hot in Cali, I just wore some flip flops.
Anyway, onto the surprise part II I received, it was from Nikki of Eye Candy Eyebrows who sent me a nice pink shirt with an eyebrow kit! Now I can match the guys from the show!
I love how the eyebrow scissors was a bird (looks like a crane!)
I just got back from the Anastasia Focus Group, and it was actually A LOT of fun! I met a few girls (also brought Erica and a few of my co-workers with me) and it was really nice getting to know everyone’s general thoughts about skincare, products in general, etc., and just talking about everything pertaining to beauty.
For attending the focus group, we each got a BAG FULL of goodies from Anastasia (www.anastasia.net): eyebrow palette, sharpener, tweezers, matte and shimmer highlight eye pencils, eyebrow gel (I LOVE this stuff!), eyebrow pencils, and stencils, and more! I really like Anastasia products, Anastasia herself is an aesthetician, and specializes in the art of eyebrows and has worked on many celebrities. Her products are awesome because they cater to everyone, even those of you who don’t really wear makeup, you can frame your face and really make it prominent by shaping and grooming your eyebrows!
Someone asked that I do a tutorial on eyebrows (I will do a video and some photos soon, I did a video and didn’t like it so I ended up deleting it so I will try and do it over again!), but they did a video you can learn from already! CLICK HERE TO WATCH!
Here is the loot I got, the zip around bag I received for doing a review…
Tweezers: The Anastasia tweezers are made by hand and have a customized slanted tip. They are calibrated and made of highest quality steel to tweeze even the finest hairs, giving you the best precision possible. They are also rust proof! However, once dropped, you can’t use them anymore because they are calibrated (even), so by dropping them, they lose their calibration.

It contains Vitamins C and E, and is transfer resistant. The two colors ensures to give you the perfect brow color, encased in a tiny compact with a mirror.
Brow Gel: It’s a clear gel fortified with botanical hair conditioners and essential oils to keep unruly brow hairs in place all day without flaking or stickyness.
Eye Lights (Matte/Shimmer): These are awesome! They are used as a highlight under the brow bone from the middle to the outer part. Comes in a matte and shimmer finish. Gives a soft highlight to make tired eyes look more awake and alive, makes eyes pop. It’s a cream to powder finish and is ideal for all skin types.
Go-Brow Double Ended Eyebrow Pencil and Highlight: One end- Eyebrow Pencil. The other? A highlighter! Perfect combination and a must have in every makeup case! It’s a universal brow pencil and highlighter duo that fits all skin types to create amazing eyebrows! The brow pencil is a bit waxy for long wear and to keep those hairs in place, and easy to apply!
Eyebrow Wiz: (Comes in 3 shades: Ash Blonde, Medium Ash, and Brunette) Ultra-fine tip pencil allowing you to draw in “hairs” and give you more control. It’s a turn mechanical pencil that has a spooley brush on the other end to help you blend and comb hairs down. Helps get your arches to your desired shape, giving you control to create fuller eyebrows.

Did you accidentally over tweeze again? Or did that hyped up mascara pull off your precious lashes? Well have no fear! Ardell is here!
We have all done it. We made our eyebrows TOO thin than we would like, or lost a few lashes here and there, and we find ourselves waiting for months for our precious hairs to grow back again. With Ardell’s Lash & Brow Growth Accelerator, it speeds up the process and before you know it, your hairs are growing!
Product: 5 out of 5 Packaging: 5 out of 5 Quality: 5 out of 5 Overall: 5 out of 5
What the product says: Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator is a concentrated serum of multi-proteins that works to immediately repair weak lashes and restore thickness of over-tweezed or thinning brows. Added conditioners soften dry, brittle lashes enabling them to grow longer, thicker and fuller.
Directions: After cleansing face, brush on to lashes and/or brows. Leave on all night.
I bought this after many reviews from Makeup Alley and 80% of people said they would buy it again. I went to ULTA with the BF a few weeks ago and picked this baby up, it was only $4 so why the heck not? I already have long ass eyelashes so I had nothing to lose!
PROS: No funky smell (big bonus for me, I hate things that smell funky!), it made my eyelashes THICKER, my eyelashes are naturally pretty long as it is, but this made them a bit thicker, rather than long and thin, and I really noticed it after 4 days of using this stuff. I have NOT tried it on my eyebrows, but reader Esraa said she used it once on her thin eyebrows and all the hairs grew back in no time! I LOVE how it works while you sleep! On CLEAN lashes, apply a few coats before bedtime, and it starts to work overnight, giving you luscious longer and thicker lashes, as well as eyebrows. I also noticed that my eyelashes were a lot stronger and durable, and not so brittle. Usually i’d lose a mascara hair or two, but my eyelashes are a lot stronger now. I don’t think my findings are from some sort of a “placebo effect” as I originally didn’t think it would work nor would I notice a difference; but after about a week, my lashes were SO much thicker, not sure if you guys can tell from recent FOTD’s, but they are! The price isn’t shabby at all, at $4-$7 (depending where you go), it’s a great product to try!
CONS: I personally do not have any cons about this product.
Overall: I like it, and would buy it again. I know many of you probably have tried this particular product or something similar with no results, but I think with repeated usage you will notice a difference. As it’s design is to HELP enable your eyebrows and eyelashes grow FASTER, so in order to see some results you must use this for at least a month, it various from person to person. I have used it for about 2 weeks so far and I am happy with the results, even if it did NOT make my lashes longer or thicker in the end, they are no longer brittle and a lot stronger, so I would be happy regardless! And besides it’s very affordable!
