I was born in 1982, and naturally I have always loved the 80’s. Listening to the Bangles with my mom, using her hairbrush as a microphone and pretending her bed was the stage. I remember jelly sandals, stirrup pants, leggings under skirts, and of course, bright colored makeup and big hair. And who can forget the coming of “New Kids on the Block”??!

So for the 80’s look, I just did really bright makeup and bold pink lips since that was “in” during the 80’s, I did a slight teased poof with my bangs.

It was just for FUN, and I would never wear this out, LOL.

Right eye with black eyeliner on waterline, left eye without for comparison…

What I used:

– Monistat Chafing Gel as primer
– MAC StudioFinish Concealer in NC30

FOTD: Using She Space Minerals

I am watching “America’s Best Dance Crew” right now, and I am hoping Jabbawockeez wins! I am going to miss seeing them on the show, and gosh are they cute! Jabba-hotties as they say! LOL.

So here is a FOTD I did today using some of the SheSpace minerals I got awhile back; very similar to also the mermaid look I did recently, but just using some of the SheSpace minerals and variations of teal. I also used “Melrose Mood” and “Starlet Kiss” from the Heatherette Collection. I am going to a Lakers game tomorrow at the Staples center with my company, our CEO got us boxed seats since we acquired another website to add to our repertoire. So you know I am gonna be rocking some yellow and purple makeup!

The color was more vibrant in person, so I apologize if it looks a bit washed out…

What I used:

– Monistat Chafing Gel as primer
– MAC StudioFinish Concealer NC30
– Silk Naturals Foundation in “Buttery Gold”

– MAC Fafi Blush in “Fashion Frenzy”

– MAC PP in “Soft Ochre” as base all over lids
– SheSpace Mineral e/s in “Make Believe” applied wet on inner corners of the eyes
– SheSpace Mineral e/s in “Bed of Nails” applied wet on outer part of the lid
– KT Naturals “Cornflower” on outer part of the lid
– MAC “Fuchsia” Pigment applied wet on contour above the two colors
– MAC “Vanilla” Pigment applied dry on browbone as highlight
– MAC “Violet” Pigment applied a little on the middle of the lid and wet on lower lashline
– Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black
– Tiffa Mascara Base
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

– MAC Melrose Mood lipstick
– MAC Starlet Kiss Lipgloss

Look- Bare, Minimalist Look

Ladies, I know as much as we love makeup, there are days where we simply don’t have the time to primp ourselves, or because we just want something simple, classic, and natural.

I did a look long time ago for a shoot, and although I was offered a makeup artist, I opted out and wanted to do it myself…there are only a couple of makeup artists I actually trust, one of them being makeup vixen Katie B. She knows exactly what I want, or what look would suit me best. But for this particular shoot which was just headshots, I wanted something that wouldn’t be too much, something natural.

So this look was super easy and I think it’s great for wearing to school, work, and switching it up at night to a sultry, smoky look by just adding eyeliner on the lower lashline and smudging it. (my hair was burgundy/deep purple at the time despite the fact it looks dark brown in this pic…and VERY healthy because that’s when I WAS taking care of it, lol)

The lips of course are also prominent, and very natural. And what’s better? I used ALL DRUGSTORE brands for this look!

What I used:

-I believe it was Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mouse at the time (don’t remember the shade, I think it was like a creamy natural)

– Revlon Blush in “Blushed”

– Revlon eyeshadow in “White Whisper”
– Isadora eyeshadow palette (don’t remember the name) but it was a dark gray color, so you can improvise :)
– Milani Quad in “Earthy Delights” (the antique gold color)
– Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner in “Blackest Black”
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara in “Blackest Black”
– Revlon Colorstay Pencil eyeliner in “Black” smudged a bit on lower lashline
– Eyebrows: Sephora Pencil

– Concealed lips with concealer
– Sephora Lip Pencil #206
– Neutrogena Lipgloss in “Coy”

**EDIT** someone commented saying it was not a natural look, but the title of this post also includes MINIMALIST, meaning comparative to other looks i’ve done, this is quite subdued, MINIMAL, and soft. This look doesn’t take long, and many of the things I have used are optional (as all the other looks i’ve), so you can substitute things or not line the lowerlashline, whichever you desire, I just listed what I used for this particular look. Natural is organic, hence meaning NO MAKEUP at ALL (and if that were the case then there would be no need for a makeup blog, therefore a natural LOOK consists of very light makeup application and little effort to LOOK natural). :)

FOTD- Using MAC Holiday Smokey Eyes Palette

*Special thanks* to sugababy77 who wrote me such a sweet email! She said to just keep doing videos and to not worry about making mistakes, etc because we are all here to learn makeup and no one is perfect, she made a really good point. I am STILL hesitant about videos, but at least I am comfortable making a fool out of myself haha. Thanks again! I will try and get over my “video fear”…lol

Sorry gals I was in a hurry last night in doing my makeup, it was my best friends birthday dinner so I came home from a long day at work and did it super fast. It’s actually pretty similar to the Smoke Signals Quads, except in ONE palette, in case any of you are wondering. It seriously has remnants of “gentle fumes” and “smoking eyes”.

I will also do a FOTD on the cool eyes palette (for you ladies who asked).

My eyes are always red, no I don’t smoke out haha, my eyes hate this weather right now in Cali, and with the air quality from the fires (I am near Malibu), it’s making my allergies act up!

What I used:

– Philosophy Primer “On a Clear Day”
– Madminerals foundation in Light Medium (a tad bit light on me)
– Bronzer (unknown brand)
– Cheeks: MAC Blush in “Dame”, Everyday Minerals in “Waffle Cone”, MAC Tectonic as highlight

– MAC Paint Pot in “Painterly”
– Antiquitease Mineralized Eyeshadow in “Silversmith”
– Royal Assets Palette in Smokey Eyes
– Indelible Gel Eyeliner in “Black Out”
– Dior Show Mascara

– A beautiful pink color from the LA Girl Palette

I love the LA Girl Lip Palette!

And I am really loving Everyday Minerals blushes! Waffle cone is my favorite!

I had to do a googly face :)

Green Tea Wipes, Prep+Prime, and Earthly Riches

I bought these Green Tea Makeup Remover Wipes from this store downstairs from my work, they have a lot of NYX products, but none that tickled my fancy, but what’s cool is that they have a lot of the Japanese/Korean beauty products which I love! I love the smell of these wipes, they have Vitamin E (which smoothes and tones the skin), and Aloe. It matches my Purist Green Tea Moisturizer I bought from Sally’s. It makes my skin feel so clean!

I also got the Prep+Prime from MAC, I give it 3 out 5 stars. Why? Well one, I didn’t really like the packaging, I wish it was a tad bit bigger or same size but comes in the same bottle as the Studio Fix Moisturizer so I can stand it up. Also, compared to my Laura Geller Spackle Face Primer, I didn’t enjoy the smell of it too much, although it works remarkably well.

The “Earthly Riches” eyeshadow is so pretty, the purple is a deep shimmery purple, and the dark brown is very earthy indeed, and I love the antique feel it has to it.

This is the eye look I did using some products from the Antiquity Collection, used “Silversmith” eyeshadow all over the lid, and “Sweet Sienna” pigment and “Earthly Riches” on the outer V and contour giving me a natural look. Lined the bottom with “Slate” from Covergirl.

Here is another look I did using “Moon’s Reflection” and the new eyeshadow from “Family Silver”:

And here is the closed eye version of my Halloween look:

Halloween Party Look

So I went to a birthday/halloween party last weekend (where I also did makeup on 2 people, hopefully she’ll send me the pics), anyway, I didn’t buy a costume for it since I had no time, so I just did my makeup to match fairy wings I had. I also used falsies that had tiny gems or rhinestones on them…

Also, Christiana (thanks girl!) found a new mineral make-up site where you can CREATE your custom-blended mineral foundation! I checked it out and it’s pretty neat, I think I am going to order some samples and see if it works for me.

What I used:

– Ardell False eyelashes from Sally’s w/rhinestones
– Viz-a-Violet and Violet MAC Pigments
– Makeup Forever Purple eyeshadow
– Everyday Minerals eyeshadow in “Bundle” and MMBB “highlights” as the highlight and all over lid color.
– Teal Pigment
– Covergirl eyeshadow (forgot the name, but it’s a shimmery teal color)
– L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

– MAC Blush in “Dollymix”
– MAC Tectonic as highlight

– MAC “Snob” under “Masque” lipstick
– Sephora #206 pencil
– 3D lipglass (MAC) in “Lightswitch”
